The third issue of 2025 features studies on digital transformation and firms’ environmental performance, the uncertainty of sustainable growth for ESG enterprises, institutional investors and firm performance in the oil and gas industry, the role of the digital economy in driving carbon neutrality, business ecosystem frameworks, the impact of foreign investment components on cash holdings, determinants of capital structure under financial turbulence, and more.

A paper by our colleagues Irina Ivashkovskaya and Artem Anilov titled "On compensation incentives, managerial overconfidence, and payout policy" has been published in the journal Finance Research Letters.

The first issue of 2025 features research on ESG ratings across BRICS countries, the impact of new technologies on the performance of vertically integrated Russian oil companies, the development of digital ecosystem resilience indices, financial inclusion, and more.

Economists from HSE and RUDN University have analysed issues related to corporate digital transformation processes. The introduction of digital solutions into corporate operations reduces the number of patents in the field of green technologies by 4% and creates additional financial difficulties. However, if a company focuses on sustainable development and increases its rating in environmental, social, and governance performance (ESG), the negative effects decrease. Moreover, when the ESG rating is high, digitalisation can even increase the number of patents by 2%. The article was published in Sustainability.

What is essential for managing ESG risks effectively — specific talents, a variety of experiences, or academic knowledge? In the light of the ESG transition, which aspects of corporate governance should analysts and investors focus on? A recent study by researchers from the School of Finance addresses these questions.

On June 27, 2024, the winners of the X Anniversary All-Russian competition of educational and scientific publications for higher education «University Book – 2024» were named and awarded.
