The School of Finance Celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the Higher School of Economics

On November 24th, the School of Finance staff and experts got together in anticipation of the Higher School of Economics 30th anniversary. Summing up the results of the past period, the head of the School of Finance, Doctor of Economics, tenured professor Irina Ivashkovskaya stated that during this period the School of Finance managed to make a qualitative growth in many areas:

• Three master’s programs have been created: Strategic Corporate Finance, Corporate Finance, Master of Business Analytics;

• Active development of the additional education for adults;

• Participation in Strategic projects 2030;

• The concept of the Major New Corporate Finance Research Project is being developed;

• The scientific journal «Journal of Corporate Finance»;

• A series of books is published by the international publishing house Springer.

• There are two research working groups (RWG): «Innovations in the Banking Sector, its Financial Stability and Prudential Regulation» и «Center for Research on Non-Financial Reporting».

 As noted by the head of the RWG «Center for Research on Non-Financial Reporting» Elena Makeeva, the research group allows accumulating research and discussing planned publications. During the work of RWG, it was possible to increase the publication activity.

Alexander Karminsky, head of the RWG «Innovations in the Banking Sector, its Financial Stability and Prudential Regulation», noted that holding a regular seminar within the framework of the RWG attracts many international researchers.

Faculty and alumni are also actively participated in the discussion on the School of Finance inclusive growth future.
