During the conference, participants will discuss the influence of global ESG regulations on national factors shaping the ESG agenda in these countries, as well as responses to sustainable development challenges at both the national and corporate levels. Special focus will be given to changes in corporate models, investment policies, and financing strategies.
The organizing committee has received over 50 applications from universities and organizations worldwide. Participants from China, Egypt, Malaysia, South Korea, Romania, Uzbekistan, and leading universities in Russia are scheduled to take part in the conference.
Key speakers include:
Kai Wu, Associate Professor of Finance and Executive Director of Private Investment Fund Research Center at Central University of Finance and Economics in Beijing. His presentation is titled "Climate Change Exposure and Institutional Ownership: International Evidence". Professor Wu has exceptional experience in the field of empirical corporate finance. His research, which spans areas such as mergers and acquisitions, innovation, risk management, and corporate sustainability, has been published in respected journals, including the Journal of Corporate Finance, British Accounting Review, and International Review of Economics and Finance.
Chang H. Kim, Assistant Professor and Deputy Director of Global Affairs at the College of Industry-Entrepreneurs, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, in Suzhou. His presentation will focus on "Trends in ESG Policies in South Korea and China: A Comparative Perspective". Currently, he is a member of the working group on the circular economy at the International Trade Centre in Geneva, Switzerland, and serves as an expert on circular economy issues at the Korea Institute of Environmental Industry and Technology.
The conference promises to be a significant event for anyone interested in sustainable development and ESG in emerging capital markets.
