1-year postgraduate student Milica Simonovic with the report "The Determinants of Intellectual Capital Disclosure - A Structured Literature Review", prepared under the guidance of I. Ivashkovskaya.

Abstract

The objective of this article is to look at the major factors that influence intellectual capital disclosure. By conducting a structured literature review (SLR) on 45 articles and conference proceedings papers published between 2010 and 2020, it is discovered that intellectual capital disclosure is highly dependent on corporate governance mechanisms, the characteristics of the CEO, the ownership structure, and the specific organizational characteristics of companies. Thus far, the findings of study in this area indicate that the impact of the aforementioned drivers of intellectual capital disclosure is unclear. The practical value of this article is demonstrated by the fact that it provides information on the determinants affecting intellectual capital disclosure through the use of a novel SLR approach. The paper's primary weakness is that it uses only papers from the Web of Science database to conduct a systematic literature review. Additionally, only publications published between 2010 and 2020 are considered.

2) 2-year postgraduate student Denis Korablev, the topic of the report «Board Capital, CEO Power and Corporate Performance: Emerging Economy Context», scientific advisor - I. Ivashkovskaya.

Abstract
The study advances the line in research of human-side of corporate governance by studying the impact of board capital on financial performance in specific environment of emerging capital market with relatively short history of corporate governance. We draw on the concept of board capital suggested by Hillman and Dalziel (2003), Haynes and Hillman (2010) as a set of heterogenous personal characteristics of directors to be able to execute their functions. We use a sample of 100 publicly traded firms in Russia during the period 2009-2017 with dynamic panel data. Our tests are based on unique data on personal characteristics of directors collected manually. We apply index approach to approximate board capital measurer with the use of taken board characteristics. To control the models for endogeneity, we used generalized method of moments with the lags of independent variables.
